| Importance of Changing Out your Contact Lens Solution Daily Let me ask you as a contact lens wearer. Do you think it is very important to change out your contact lens solution on a daily basis or every few days? If you said it is okay to change out your solution every other day or so, THINK about this...WOULD YOU WEAR THE SAME UNDERWEAR FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE CHANGING TO A NEW SET? You are essentially using toilet water to store your contact lenses overnight. Believe me this sounds silly but I have had patients that did not change out the solution for eight days. This is why she came in with an eye infection. Multipurpose solution does not cost much and even store brands are cheaper.
Important Note: Please ask your Eye Care Professional if you are a candidate to wear contact lenses overnight for any length of time. Just remember that even if it is labeled extended wear or overnight wear, NOT EVERYBODY can wear lenses overnight. |
